Morning Mayhem (School Day Edition)
August 20, 2018
7:24am. That’s the time the bus arrives.
No more lazy summer mornings for the kids. Time to rise and shine at 6:15. In the morning. 5 days a week.
It’s a cruel world, particularly for teenagers.
None of my kids is particularly hungry in the morning. So all of those studies about how important breakfast is make me feel pretty guilty.
I’ve come up with these ideas. And I’d love to hear yours.
- Add a scoop of Bulletproof collagen powder to their Greek yogurt (sweetened, vanilla. Of course.)
- Freeze smoothie ingredients – each serving’s ingredients tossed together in a freezer bag - in advance. Add milk and blend.
- Stick a pack of Farm&Oven Zucchini Lemon Poppy Seed mini-muffins in their backpacks. These bakery bites are rich and soft so the kids eat them. (And they’re getting 2 servings of veggies, probiotics and fiber.) Win/win.
- Toast a Van's waffle and spread it with nut butter and honey.
- And of course the classic Cheerios on top of yogurt.
What are your go-to morning tricks?
Warmly,
Kay
