I don’t know about you but I absolutely love this time of year. Magic is in the air. I feel as though people are kinder, smiles are brighter and consideration reigns supreme. Wouldn’t it be nice if life was like this all year long?
Whether or not you believe, there is no denying a child’s fascination with Santa Claus. There is a lot of myth, magic and history around this jolly old man, but most cultures and society and agree on one thing: he originated from the ideas around generosity, hope and magic. The first Saint Nicholas on record dates back to 400 A.D. and was renowned for helping the poor and destitute. Santa Claus was later introduced to America in the 1920s and really took off when wealthier families wanted to bring cheer to their small children as well.
Rich or poor, all children look at the world with fascination and curiosity. It’s truly up to us to take care of them, make sure their eating healthy and bring magic to their days. I was sick of fighting with my kids over veggies, hence Farm&Oven came to be. My very own magic potion! It’s true. I think there is something very magical when breakfast is no longer a battlefield and I can get everyone out the door in the morning without a meltdown.
I encourage you to become your very own Santa Claus. For yourself, for your family and for your sanity. Bring magic back into your day by offering your children delicious soft-baked mini muffins in the morning that have them asking for more...and none the wiser that they’ve just received over a ½ cup of veggies!
